BESSELS GREEN BAPTIST CHURCH

The church is a listed building

For more than two hundred years Bessels Green has been a place where Christians have celebrated the greatness and goodness of the God in whose world we live.

We hold services on Sundays at 10:00am and 6:30pm and are glad to welcome anyone who would like to join us in getting to know God better.

A variety of other meetings take place in the week, for adults and young people of all ages.

We believe

What is a Baptist church?

Baptist churches date back to the sixteenth century and today are one of the largest Protestant denominations in the world. They were called Baptists as a nickname, after their practice of totally immersing new Christians to symbolise the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Believers' Baptism is still a distinguishing feature of churches such as ours. We believe that people should be baptised after they have taken the decision to become Christians for themselves. We hold baptismal services three or four times a year, when those who are ready to publicly declare that they have become followers of Jesus Christ are immersed in a purpose-built baptismal pool.

Where is Bessels Green?

Bessels Green is on the outskirts of Sevenoaks in Kent, on the A25 road out towards the M25. The church is at the far end of the green from the main road. Visitors will find it easiest to park in the King's Head pub car park - but if you aren't planning on eating there, you should move your car well before 12 noon.
